1. Advertising

The attraction should be promoted professionally, with “movie quality” ad execution.  It is logical that if the marketing media looks cheap and silly, then potential patrons will believe the show is as well.

A well-chosen marketing plan is vital for high revenue generation.  In regards to a full for-profit production, the marketing budget should be no less than $100,000 in most markets.  Shows attached to charities can get away with less expenditure because many services and materials are donated.

2. Location
The show should be positioned along a major, well-traveled thoroughfare and should be visible from the road and/or near another successful haunted house or attraction. Whether the show is in a building or a tent, it must pass safety and building requirements.

One very important factor for increasing admissions for a seasonal show is to use the same location and name each year.  Tent shows have proven very successful for visibility and often code requirements are different for these temporary structures.  A tent can actually be preferable to a building, if the building is not very visible or not near any major attractions.

EXTRACT #1
Definition
A seasonal  “Haunted House” Or “Haunted or Dark Attraction” is a public entertainment event based in the suspense thriller/ horror genre and is presented during Halloween.

Patrons pay admission and are sent into a mobile, or permanent, decorated facility of winding corridors and rooms that contain props, sets, costumed actors* and possibly animated props.

Mission
The purpose of a Haunted Attraction is to create gainful revenue for the Producers and Investors, by fulfilling the public's desire for a professional quality and safe walk-through dark amusement.

This can be accomplished by gathering Investors and Sponsors that would provide a long term, multi-seasonal, event that is presented at the proper time, to the proper demographic, at the optimum price and quality.
