Why the Howard Johnson Anaheim?
As long-time guests of Howard Johnson "HOJO" Anaheim since 2016, Steve and I have always cherished our Disneyland adventures, starting from the comfort of our favorite hotel. The Howard Johnson Anaheim stands out with its nostalgic mid-century charm, combined with all the modern amenities you'd expect for a comfortable stay.
When Howard Johnson Anaheim approached us to design an exclusive merchandise line, it was a no-brainer. Our shared love for mid-century modern aesthetics made this an exciting project for us.
Their dedication to the retro theme is evident in their House of the Retro Future suite. It's a dream experience staying there, truly embodying the spirit of yesteryear with today's comfort.
This suite, a modern tribute to the legendary Monsanto exhibit at Disneyland, is a time capsule of innovation and style. Stepping into it is like being transported to an optimistic vision of the future, as imagined in the 1960s. Its design features sleek lines, bold geometric shapes, and a vibrant yet retro color palette. With Howard Johnson's retro aesthetic holding true, it's nice to see this timeless classic represented in the hotel so well.
Our button-up shirts reflect this same spirit, incorporating elements from the suite’s distinct aesthetic. The suite not only inspired our designs but also encapsulates the essence of the mid-century modern charm that Park Candy and Howard Johnson Anaheim both celebrate. It’s more than just a room; it’s a source of creative inspiration and a nod to a bygone era of futuristic dreams.

Each scene depicted is a heartwarming, vibrant portrayal of life at the hotel – from guests experiencing the joy of checking in, to the excitement and fun at the hotel's Pirate-themed water park, Castaway Cove.
